Watson Lake blaze snuffed out

Yukon Wildland Fire Management crews responded to a 0.01-hectare critical zone fire near the Watson Lake airport last weekend.

Yukon Wildland Fire Management crews responded to a 0.01-hectare critical zone fire near the Watson Lake airport last weekend.

The human-caused fire was quickly controlled and put out, officials said Monday.

The crews were assisted by the Watson Lake Fire Department.

The fire was no where near the airport.... it was right in the middle of the local first nations area locally called two mile. Thank goodness the fire was put out or we could have lost many homes and maybe even lives. Funny how the airport seems really important in the "news article". Unless there was another fire that no one locally knows about??
