@Bandit

It may come as a surprise to you but in Canada people are still innocent until proven guilty, so yes, it's normal to be release pending trial.
Crown and Defense negotiate this, conditions are imposed. Maybe you are watching too many Hawaii 50 re-runs. Book 'em Dan-0!

@unfecken fool.

It's 'Sir" to you. Typical conservative lack manners, annual on the grammar, complains with no real reason other then to show us you're still breathing, even tho you have limited relevance.
Sorry for the confusion in your mumblings, but you sound like those gun toting nut bars that stormed city hall.

Mr or Ms Woodcutter - There was no claim to a right of gun ownership. It was stated that the Liberals were suspending peoples rights which is true. Commas separate ideas and clauses. You should educate yourself. Typically Liberal though - Make up stuff and address that rather than the real issues.

@ unfecken
there is no "right" to gun ownership in Canada, it's a privilege that must be earned. if it's gun rights you want, move to somewhere where you can make that claim.

How about a couple of failed attempts at community wellness court and a Gladue Report - Done. Stay of proceedings. Did you know that a Gladue Report is not even necessary? Right... The matter can also be diverted - Go weed a garden or two and write an apology letter. This can all be done tomorrow! But the injustice system generating the enormous tax burden that it does will hit the highway stuck in first gear.

Or maybe he can go on house arrest like everyone else in the territory... Just make sure there is a stipulation that he cannot wear a mask... Guns, masks and trips to the grocery store on his curfew exception might not be a good idea.

FFS - Woodcutter - We have the Liberal Government suspending everyone’s rights and freedoms, there are law-abiding gun owners with illegal guns, and we have pot smokers who can purchase legal weed buying illegal smoke... What next? Welcome to the Yukarnival where satire is both King and Queen and the court jester sits on the bench.

@BnR

I know many gun owners that are self declared "law abiding gun owners" however they all seem to know a "friend" that can get, or has illegal gun, or in many cases, they have one themselves.

Not to paint gun owners with the same brush, just saying in all my years, I've met many gun advocates, who like guns, collect guns and know someone that.... I'll let you fill in the blanks

8 Charges. That's not enough to get a decent sentence. I see a revolving door in his future.

Instead of banning particular types of firearms, just make any of the offences above an automatic 20 years minimum, no parole.
With perceived rights come responsibilities. Possession without a license should be 40 years minimum, no parole.
Responsible firearm owners wouldn’t have to worry, because responsible owners would never do any of the above.
Right?
At the very least, he should never, ever be allowed to possess any firearm of any type again.

And all these charges will be condensed into one, then its, be a good boy and go home. Oh, and make sure you don't break your court imposed conditions.
